You can be assured that our home care staff are well trained, caring and courteous and responsive to your requirements. At Genesis we treat you as an individual and tailor your support to meet your unique individual needs. Personal care includes:
Fastening buttons and zips, and tying laces are simple processes to most however, for many individuals such things can become impossible tasks. If you need help getting dressed and undressed, you can rely on our Care Workers to provide support to make things easier for you.
Bathing and Showering
Your Care Worker is able to fully support you with your bathing requirements. He or she can assist you in getting in and out of the bath or shower safely, as well as washing and drying your hair and body, if required. Should you be able to bathe independently, they can be there to offer support when needed; giving you peace of mind that someone is there to ensure your safety.
If you are unable to use the bath or shower your carer can
help you with a strip wash and get to those places that you can’t reach to ensure your comfort and hygiene.
In addition to hair washing and drying our carers can help you style your hair in a way that you like.
Should you need any assistance with oral hygiene your carer can provide support from simple tasks such as putting toothpaste on your brush to ensuring your dentures are clean and healthy.
Dignity is our priority when helping you maintain your urinary and faecal continence regime. Your Care Worker will provide as much or as little
support as you are comfortable with, ranging from helping you to get to and from the toilet to monitoring and helping with your personal hygiene in order to ensure your health and comfort. This can include changing catheter and stoma bags, incontinence pads and sheets, and help with bathing and changing clothing.
If you sometimes forget to take your prescribed medication, or have problems taking it correctly this could put your health at serious risk. Our Care Workers are able to alleviate this worry by prompting you to take your medication and ensure you’re taking the right dosage, at the right time.
